FinePrint Description

video prev next Printing a document does not need to be as boring as just sending it to the printer and wait. FinePrint offers you an interesting choice of last-minute edits and a set of useful printing options that can really make a difference. This will allow you to add your watermarks, sticky notes, comments and other text snippets at the time of printing, without needing to make permanent changes in the original document. FinePrint blends nicely with any program capable of sending a document to your printer – Office tools, PDF readers and editors, image tools, etc. All you have to do is select FinePrint when you send your file to the printer, and the program will open a nice and clear interface where you can not only configure the printing job itself but also retouch your document so that it looks as it should when it comes out of the printer. This printing utility combines the most common printing options you would expect from most printing software tools with a handful of editing features that are extremely rare to find in this context. The former include the possibility to print more than one page per sheet, the possibility to rotate the paper, to add borders, to display binding and gutters marks, to select double-sided printing, to change the size of the page, etc. The latter are probably the most interesting ones, though – they include the option to add a text box with any amount of text anywhere in the page, to include a yellow sticky note, insert a watermark that you can configure with your preferred text, lighten the colors of the document, remove all images and graphics automatically, turn it into greyscale, and so on. The main advantage of performing all of these edits right before printing the file is that you can use the original document as a template that you can customize at the time of printing without having to modify the original file or save different copies for different purposes. That doesn’t prevent you from making these changes permanent if you wish – just click on the Save button in the FinePrint interface and save it with your last-minute modifications for later use. FinePrint is neither free nor cheap, but it may well become an extremely useful tool in day-to-day office work, thus making the high-priced license fee totally worth paying. There is a trial version that you can download and install to check for yourself if it fits your needs. Francisco Martínez Editor rating:
