Plus, you can get details about the size of each file. The application offers support for batch processing, which means you can select multiple items and download them at the same time. What’s more, you can refresh the information with just one click, specify a default saving directory, stop the downloading process, open the target folder, as well as set up proxy settings. Not only does the utility give you a hand when it comes to downloading media files, but it is also able to crawl webpages. Since there aren’t many configuration settings even less experienced users can master the entire process with minimum effort. During our testing we have noticed that FileScout carries out the downloading process very quickly and without errors throughout the entire process. It manages to remain light on the system resources, so it doesn’t hamper system performance, nor interfere with other programs’ functionality. All in all, FileScout offers a simple software solution for helping you grab media files from the Internet. Although it cannot compete with other powerful tools on the market, it does what it says and is suitable especially for less experienced users.
