FileAlyzer Description
FileAlyzer is a tool that you can use to view detailed technical information about a file. Once you initialize the program with the user-friendly interface, you can insert a file by using the file browser (the “drag and drop” method is not supported). So, you can find out general information, such as the file's location, size, version, as well as date of creation, last write and last access. But you can also view the hex code of the respective file, anomalies, OpenSBI parameter names and values, a map, bitmap, streams (standard, security, object identifier) and a graph. Furthermore, you can find out about text, security details (system, administrators, users), hashes (e.g. cyclic redundancy check, Message-Digest algorithm, US secure hash algorithm), INI, classification sources and VirusTotal results. In addition, you can use the "Cut", "Copy" and "Paste" functions, compare opened or a saved set of files, save a report to file, copy it to clipboard or Notepad window, an XML or HTML report to a browser window, or XML to a Notepad window, and more. In the “Settings” menu, you can change the external libraries when it comes to SSDeep (fuzzy hashing algorithm) and ClamAV (antivirus scan). The program takes up a moderate amount of system resources and didn't freeze, crash or pop up any errors during our tests. However, there is no help file available, so novices would probably have a hard time learning what the technical terms mean. We mainly recommend FileAlyzer to experienced individuals.
