Encrypted FTP Description

Encrypted FTP is a client/server application that allows you to transfer files and folders via FTP. It provides users with the possibility of encrypting data, in addition to standard functionality. During the setup procedure you can select the components to install - EFTP3 client, EFTP3 server, or both. The interface of the tool is based on a standard window with an uncomplicated layout, where you can select the IP address, server pot and number of maximum users, in order to connect to a server. As far as settings you, you can make the server automatically run at Window startup minimized to the system tray, use passive ports, specify the inactivity timeout and limit the download speed, to name but a few. Concerning security measures, it is possible to select the key bits and length, in order to generate a new key pair. You can enforce case sensitivity, allow unencrypted clients and give encryption hints. The client app requires users to enter the site name, host name, port number, user name and password. You may specify proxy preferences and the transfer mode (automatic with or without confirmation, always overwrite, or always skip), use UNC and write the default local path, among others. The program runs on a very low amount of CPU and system memory, so it doesn't put a strain on the computer's overall performance. It has a good response time and works well, without hanging, crashing or popping up error dialogs. On the downside, Encrypted FTP has not been updated for a very long time.
