EXiFStripper Description
EXiFStripper is a tiny and portable application whose goal is to remove EXIF information from image files with the JPEG format. It can help you clear a significant amount of space on your hard drive, if your computer is burdened with numerous images. Since installation is not a prerequisite, you can simply drop the executable file on any location on the hard drive and run the executable file immediately. As an alternative, you can save EXiFStripper to a USB flash drive or similar storage unit, and run it on any computer. Thus, you can carry the utility in your pocket whenever you're on the move. A more important aspect relies in the fact that the Windows Registry does not get new entries, and files are no left behind on the hard drive after removing the product. The app is wrapped in a simple interface with a minimalistic layout, where you can use the "drag and drop" method to import JPG items into the list. With the single click of a button, EXiFStripper performs the EXIF removal operation, while backing up the original files, in case you still need them in their initial form. Log details reveal the size difference between the source and output file. However, EXiFStripper does not integrate any other configurable options. For example, you cannot preview images in a built-in viewer or make the tool minimize to the system tray area. Nevertheless, CPU and system memory are used at a minimum level during the program's runtime, and the conversion procedure is swiftly performed. No error dialogs have been revealed in our tests and the tool did not hang or crash. Thanks to its overall simplicity, EXiFStripper can be handled with ease by first-time users.
