Dup-DVD Description

Dup-DVD is an easy to use Windows tool that can create a backup of any DVD movie using just a few configuration options. Although such a task might sound a bit like rocket science for beginners, Dup-DVD relies on a very user-friendly approach, which means rookies could install it without any risk. If you're okay with the standard settings, it's enough to pick the source and the target and you're ready to go, but it's highly recommended to have a look in the options menu as well to configure the existing parameters. Dup-DVD can back up a DVD movie to VCD or SVCD, with support for the majority of burning devices now on the market. The configuration screen is nothing special, but it still boasts some handy options, allowing you to pick between the two aforementioned output formats to use. Plus, you're enabled to choose the quality and the format, which can be either NTSC or PAL. In addition, the program also comes with dedicated settings concerning the subtitle, sound, aspect and size. Obviously, you can configure the burning process as well, but you're not assaulted with too many features except for the ones regarding the speed and burn simulation. Requiring just 2GB for temporary files beside the space needed for backing up the discs on the local hard disk, Dup-DVD runs just fine on all Windows versions, without the need for administrator privileges on Windows 7 workstations. Overall, Dup-DVD indeed does what it says with minimum configuration settings. But while this can only be good news for beginners, more advanced users may be a bit disappointed with the amount of available options, so further updates are clearly needed.
