Disk Explorer Professional is an application that can help you catalog your storage devices such as CDs, DVDs, hard drives and network drives, as well as FTP servers. Once you run the application, you’re welcomed to create a new database from scratch by specifying the maximum number of volumes to be included in the database and the output destination. You can encrypt the generated project by setting up passwords. The application allows users to create and work with multiple databases at the same time, as well as move files between databases. The GUI may seem a bit overwhelming at a first glance, but this is only because this tool bundles many configuration settings, and if you want to make the most out of each feature, you should check out the help menu. The main window is divided into two panels: the left one lists the volumes or categories in the database, while the right one displays the files and folders of the selected device. It is possible to add volumes to the database by uploading a folder to the list. You are also allowed to add profiles that describe the file types, and filter items by various parameters. The application can also give you details about the properties of the volume, such as files with content and nested archives, total number of files, and total size of data on the device. Moreover, it provides volume statistics, which can help you view a list with the types of files that are on the device, as well as database statistics which comprise the reports for all volumes.
