Desktop Planet Clock 2.1 Description

Fans of astronomy can easily get lost in the Desktop Planet Clock gadget. This app displays time on planets, the sun and other astral objects, directly on your desktop. It can be easily installed and configured by first-time users. The interface of the software application is based on a small window. By default, it shows the current time marked on the sun. This option can be modified from the 'Settings' screen, where you can pick one of the 15 available skins, such as the moon, eclipse, Mercury, Venus, Mars and Callisto, among others. In addition, you can edit the clock name, switch to a different time zone, or to the 24-hour digital time, as well as hide the second hand (in analog mode) or seconds (in digital mode). With the courtesy of some standard settings provided by Windows, you can move Desktop Planet Clock's frame to any position on the screen by using the mouse cursor, make it stay on top of other applications, as well as adjust its opacity level between 20% and 100%. The tiny program runs on a low amount of system resources, so the process' activity can be barely noticed in 'Task Manager'. It is very responsive and didn't cause the operating system to freeze, crash or pop up error dialogs during our evaluation. Too bad that Desktop Planet Clock has not been updated for a long time.
