Decompressia Description

Decompressia is a lightweight software application built specifically for helping you create ZIP archives, decompress ZIP files, as well as view the content stored within ZIP files. It boasts a clean and simplistic layout that allows you to set up the dedicated parameters with minimum effort. The program gives you the possibility to upload files into the working environment using only “drag and drop” operations, so you cannot rely on a browse function. In order to create an archived file you are required to drag and drop the files into the primary panel and hit the “Zip” button. By default, the ZIP files are saved to a preset destination. On the downside, you are not allowed to pick a saving directory and filename, so you are stuck with the preset functions. The unzipping process can be carried out pretty quickly, while the “View Zip” function lets you check the items stored within an archived file. You cannot open the items or preview them. What’s more, in order to switch from one action to another, you are required to clear the entire workspace. The lack of configurable settings can be good news only for rookies, as they can learn to master the entire process with minimum effort. However, more experienced users may find it pretty inconvenient to work with a tool that doesn’t offer support for advanced functions. You are not allowed to split or merge archives, and delete the items from an archive, just to name a few suggestions. During our testing we have noticed that Decompressia carries out a task quickly and without errors. It doesn’t eat up a lot of CPU and memory, so the overall performance of the computer is not hampered. All in all, Decompressia proves to be a simple-to-use application that comes packed with basic features, and is suitable especially for beginners.
