Editor's review: This is an employee scheduling software. DRoster is a free employee scheduling software. It offers several planners, some 9 variations. These include shifts planner, detailed planner, hourly planner, employee, employees’ management, positions management, recurrence management and a views management. DRoster settings manage the necessary parameters for the tool. The shift planner lets you allocate specific persons in each position displayed as a grid. Each grid cell tells you which employees are booked for a shift and position. You add a duty (a booking) by clicking on a cell. You can set the grid to a week or month`s view to see all the duties, shifts and positions. The Detailed Planner displays Positions in resizable columns on a 24 hour display grid. Each column displays the shifts for a position. The hourly planner lets you look at the situation closely on an hourly basis and lets you find the gaps, if any. The employee management window lets you manage all your employees` personal details, assigned positions, current and future availability status, reasons for absence etc. Positions management is an overall view of all the positions. You can decide which employee to attach to positions, whether a position can overlap with another position, etc. Recurrence patterns and viewing management let you set any custom recurrence your organization needs and the customization of the views are possible with the two balance modules. Settings available include color coding, screen display options, email templates, user-defined properties for duties, user-defined absence reasons and availability, time format and so on. Each of the planning windows are supported by a well designed window and supported by extensive reporting capability. This is not for the beginner, but is easy to operate for experienced ones.
