DB2RSS Description

The DB2RSS application was developed to be a command-line utility (in conjuction with any task scheduler) that gives you the possibility to monitor changes in given database (accurately: changes in passed SQL SELECT statement) and create a temporary rss file (using the template) on your local PC, to which you can subscribe as if it was a newsfeed. Supported databases:- MySQL,- InterBase (Firebird)- Blackfish SQLSyntax: db2rss.exe host=host-name user=user-name pass=password comp=compare-to host-name database server name or address user-name user name (login) password user password database datase/schema name role-name role name sql-command sql command (currently only SELECT is supported) driver-id MYSQL/INTERBASE/BLACKFISHSQL driver-library user defined dbExpress driver to use instead of default driver-fnc user defined dbExpress driver function to use instead of default vendor-library user defined vendor library to use instead of default compare-to a local file (last checked copy of sql result), target-rss resulting rss feed (a local file) default default (internal) rss feed template is used template-file used rss feed template (a local file) title title used in resulting rss /B sql result is saved in binary format (blob monitoring supported) /F sql result is saved in fixed width text format (blob monitoring is not supported) /H header row with field names is included in sql result (for text formats only) /NB text result is saved in utf-8 format, so you can ommit the BOM with this switch /? helpSecurity info: We recommend to use some of the "host" user names to login via this utility, because of password visibility. Of course, if you really know, what you are doing, use any user name and password you want.Template macros: %1 - given title or "compare-to" filename %2 - connection string in form "host-name/database" %3 - current date and time (in GMT format) %4 - current date and time (in local format) %5 - given "user-name" %6 - sql result (not available in binary result format)Remarks:- Resulting exit code is 0, if any change occured, in other cases exit code is greater than 0.- Note, that any other parameter, that is supported by dbExpress connection (and/or driver) can be passed into the connection (see examples, parameter "port=3307").
