Control Sheets Description

Control Sheets is a tiny desktop utility designed for quick control over screen saver and display mode settings. Control Sheets can be very helpful if you need to switch this settings frequently. Main features: Fast display mode switching: The standard Windows control panel applet "Display Properties" is a universal and convenient tool in general. But if you have to change display settings very often (for example if you are a web developer, who tests how his pages looks in different screen resolutions), you may find that to open each time Display Properties dialog may be a bit tiresome. Control Sheets utility is intended to make such tasks as quick as possible. Left click on its tray icon opens a small control panel. It consists of two sheets: "screen saver" (see below) and "display mode". On the latter, you select desired screen resolution, color depth, possibly refresh rate, and click the "set" button. The Control Sheets panel automatically hides as soon as you switch to any other application (like system volume control does). Preserve windows and desktop icons positions: A very annoying problem is that after switching to a lower screen resolution and then reverting back, desktop icons and opened windows appear to be heaped to the top left corner of the screen. Control Sheets prevent this. It simply keeps windows and icons positions for each screen resolution and automatically restores them after each mode switch. Also, you can save and restore icons positions manualy by menu command. Temporary disable screen saver: Sometimes (for example watching video, burning CD-R) automatically starting screensaver may be very objectionable. Control Sheets offer an easy way to temporary disable and then reenable screensaver as well as auto power management options: turn off monitor and system standby. On the "screen saver" sheet you'll find the corresponding check boxes. The special check box "disable all", allows to enable/disable all of them by a single click. Quickly change screen saver: Instead of disabling screensaver you can increase its timeout. The sidebar at the bottom of the sheet allows changing it in a wide range from 30 seconds to 3 hours. You can also quickly select another screen saver, start screen saver immediately.
