Editor's review: CRiSP is a powerful text editor that allows you to edit any text file regardless of its size. It can edit text written in multiple languages and across multiple platforms, such as Windows, UNIX, and Mac. The best part about CRiSP is that it looks the same even when viewed in different platforms. You can run CRiSP as an easy-to-use GUI application or as a character mode version. With the GUI mode, you can perform all your text editing operations using a nice set of menus, toolbars with easily recognizable icons, and tabs. You can browse your favorite folders and switch between folders while present in the same window of CRiSP. The HTML editing submenu accessible from the Edit menu allows you to convert text from HTML format to plain text and vice-versa. The Text Formatting submenu allows you to change the initial cases of words, center lines, insert comments between lines of code, reformat one or more paragraphs, remove comments, and convert casing of selected text from uppercase to lowercase and vice-versa. The Filter Region command accessible from the File menu allows you to use an external command for editing. You can click the FTP command from the File menu to directly upload files on your Web server. CRiSP supports highly sophisticated search. The various search options are proximity search, search buffers, search files, files search and replace, find matching brace, find matching element, and intelligent search. All the search options are accessible from the Find menu. You can also replace the text and go to a particular line, tag, or bookmark. CRiSP also comes with AutoSave & Backups dialog box. On the Autosave tab, you can specify the time duration after which CRiSP should autosave your file. On the Backup tab, you can specify the backup folder and number of backups. The Locking tab allows you to lock your file from editing by other users. Sanity tab lets you know whether someone tampered your file.
