Auto Complete Description

The Auto Complete plug-in was designed to replace user-defined words into complete paragraphs. For instance, if you press a configured key (such as space key) after: if then, this plug-in will automatically replace it with: if ( ) { } else } } To set up the Auto Complete plug-in, select Customize Plug-Ins under the Tool menu, select AutoComplete in the Plug-In Settings window, press , and then press . Locate and select the auto complete file (.eac extension) you would like to use. Click and then twice to close the Auto Complete and Plug-In Settings windows. The next step is choosing the keyboard key you will use to activate the auto complete feature while typing. Select under the Tool Menu (it is also possible to set up seperate settings for different configurations by choosing at this point). Click on the Keyboard tab and scroll through the Category list until you find and select Plug-In. Under Commands, select Auto Complete. Place the cursor in the Press New Shortcut Key box and choose a keyboard key to use by pressing the key of your choice once. Then press , , and . On Properties, you can set a specific configuration that the plug-in can work. By copying AutoComplete.dll and renaming (for instance, AutoComplete2.dll), you can use the plug-in with multiple different configurations. To install, copy the DLL file and all .eac files to the EmEditor plug-in folder usually C:\Program Files\EmEditor\PlugIns.
