Audio X Converter Description

Audio X Converter is an easy-to-use application that allows you to turn audio tracks into MP3, WMA, OGG and WAV. The program packs a clean and simple interface where you can add items via the file browser because "drag and drop" is not supported. It is possible to work with multiple audio tracks at once. The file list lets you view various information on each entry, such as file name, length, size, source and output location, along with status. If you choose the default settings you can start the conversion process by simply selecting a target file type and directory. But advanced users can access the "Options" area to tinker with audio options when it comes to the sampling frequency, channel mode, bit rate, variable bit rate coding, encoder quality, bits per sample, compression level and alternative preset (e.g. fast standard, extreme). Settings can be restored to default. Audio X Converter can also normalize the volume to a specific value, save files in the source folder, turn off the computer or to open the output directory after the tasks are done, as well as to overwrite existing files. Additionally, you can adjust the interface theme color, preview the source or converted tracks in a built-in audio player, edit ID3 tags, open the output directory, save a playlist, as well as delete an item from the file list or clear the entire queue. The audio conversion software takes reasonable time to complete a task while using a moderate amount of system resources. Its response time is good and we have not encountered any issues during our testing. The output audio tracks have a fair sound quality. There is also a help file available. On the other hand, you cannot select the thread priority and the interface is not impressive from the visual point of view. After all, Audio X Converter has not received updates for a very long time.
