Editor's review: This is an audio recorder and is available for use freely. Audio Recorder is a free software program that lets you record any sounds from your sound card into MP3, WMA or WAV formats. Anything that plays on your sound card, such as streaming audio from the Internet, external input devices such as CDs, LP, music cassettes, phone line etc. as well as other applications like WinAmp, Media Player, etc., can be recorded. The interface divides the work area into two distinct parts. One is for recording and the other for playback. The file list display area is common to many operations such as play, show file list in the recording group of options. Recording group has a control that shows or disable the file list. Show mixer window brings up the mixer controls. You are able to set volume, balance and other controls in that window. Options and schedule buttons help set the recording format and other options that include voice activation, music format, auto naming of files, hot key set up etc. Schedule options include date & time for recording. You could set a recurrence to the date & time too. Overall this does look like quite a sophisticated recording tool. Being free adds to the charm and if you do not have a tool in your tool chest, you should seriously consider adding one to it. The interface is not great design wise, but is highly functional.
