AHD MKV to iPhone is a commercial video converter. It allows you to convert your MKV video files into formats that play natively on the iPhone. These formats are MPEG-4 and H.264. But it also supports a wide variety of other formats, including XviD, DivX, MOV, FLV, 3GP, etc. It can also open other formats besides MKV. I don't really know why the app is called MKV to iPhone converter, when it supports most formats out there. That fact aside, I will focus on the conversion of MKV files to files that play on the iPhone. There are quite a few different conversion profiles for the iPhone, and all the models are supported. The app even comes with profiles for iPads and iPods. In my testing, I added an MKV file and chose the iPhone 4 HD profile. The file that I used was 1 minute 49 seconds long, and the app took nearly five minutes to convert it. I don't have the fastest PC, though, so these numbers might not be representative of the apps performance on faster PCs. The resulting file played very well, and the quality was great, though, obviously, the resolution was smaller.
