The A.F.6 Split Your Files application was designed to be a small tool that splits a file into multiple smaller pieces. Why should anybody want to do this? Here are a few examples: - save a large file that doesn't fit on a single disk on several disks (Floppy disk, Zip disk, ...) - send a large file in several separated e-mails to avoid trouble with a too large attachment - make files on your website more download-able by splitting them into several smaller parts A.F.6 works like a pair of scissors. The data from the input file are separated and stored into several smaller files, but not changed. This means that you can restore the original file by simply putting the pieces together. One way to do this is to use of the COPY command in DOS. COPY /B part1.dat /B + part2.dat target.dat The COPY command should be available on every computer. Another way is to use an editor that can process binary data.
