4U DVD Ripper Description

4U DVD Ripper is a simple-to-use application which enables you to convert DVDs to the MPG or AVI format. It can be handled by both novices and experienced individuals. The interface of the program is based on a standard window in which you can import a DVD, VOB or MPG file by using either the file browser or "treeview" (the "drag and drop" method is not supported). Batch conversion is allowed. In the list you can check out the name of each video. Once you establish the output destination and file type, you can proceed with the encoding job. Furthermore, you can change audio and video preferences when it comes to the frame rate, aspect ratio, resolution, quality and volume. Settings can be restored to their default values. Additionally, you can configure CPU options and enable 4U DVD Ripper to overwrite existing files without prompt, enable audio and video synchronization, set the tool to automatically turn off the computer after conversion, select the audio language and subtitle stream, and others. The DVD conversion software requires a moderate-to-high amount of system resources, has a good response time, quickly finishes a task and generally preserves a good image and sound quality. On the other hand, 4U DVD Ripper failed to convert the audio stream in several examples during our tests. Also, the interface is outdated and we weren't able to access the help file (clicking the option didn't do anything). We recommend 4U DVD Ripper with reservations.
