autoRIB Description

Process, adjust and allow shadow generation to RIB code AutoRIB is a free and open source program built to process Renderman RIB code, to adjust it and to allow the automatic generation of shadow and environment maps. Requirements: · Java What's New in This Release: · It now allows you to specify names to exclude as well as those to include. · Similarly the Omit instruction has been revised to allow more complex selection of objects to omit. · Also the 'current' object is now automatically omitted for the generation of environment or reflection maps, though there is a new option to turn this behaviour off. TightClipping: A new instruction has been added to automatically set tight clipping planes - that is planes that are just infront of and just behind the defined objects. · The LightDome instruction automatically adds a dome of lights for which shadow maps can then be generated. · The AppendPrimParam instruction allows you to add or replace arbitrary data to the end of parameters in a primitive. · The SavePrefs instruction automatically saves reference "P" and "Pw" data from an object so that it can be added to objects in a later frame. · The PerspMap instruction allows you to create arbitrary maps either with all the data supplied by the user, or with some of it calculated from the current object. · The SixSnaps instruction allows you to automatically generate six views looking at all sides of a group of objects. · The CleanPolys instruction helps clean up polygon data, for example before using it as the basis of a subdivision surface, created using ToSubdivision; · The CombinePolys instruction allows you to combine together a number of polygons into a single pointspolygon or PointsGeneralPolygon. · This is useful if your RIB exporter outputs individual polygons rather than a mesh, and you want to use ToSubdivision to convert the polygons into a subdivision surface; Several new command line options have been introduced.
