UK Tax Freedom Clock Description

Dashboard widget that will display the months, days, hours, minutes and seconds till/since UK Tax Freedom Day, in real-time UK Tax Freedom Clock is the UK version of the popular US Tax Freedom Clock Widget. The only difference is that UK Tax Freedom Clock counts down to or from Tax Freedom Day in the United Kingdom. The front side of the UK Tax Freedom Clock widget continuously displays time till/since UK Tax Freedom Day, in months, days, hours, minutes and seconds. The back side of the UK Tax Freedom Clock widget expands to display in some detail, the functioning of the widget and the concept of Tax Freedom Day. The back side also provides links to the source data. UK Tax Freedom Day is the day on which the average UK taxpayer has worked long enough to earn the money necessary to pay all of his taxes for the year. The calculations for this widget are based upon calculations by the Adam Smith Institute, which obtained the source data from the British Government. The UK Tax Freedom Clock counts down not only the months and days, but the hours, minutes and seconds to Tax Freedom, as well. NOTE: Since the 2009 data has not yet been released, this version is based upon UK Tax Freedom Day for 2008, as indicated in the version number. However, it should not be necessary to download annual changes, unless there is a version number change, since the widget checks the internet for a new Tax Freedom Day, every time it opens. Requirements: · Must have a connection to the Internet, in order to retrieve the new Tax Freedom Date.
