Symtree Description

Free and open source library that will help you create, search, and modify sets Symtree is a C library for storing data that that can be treated as a set. Any data that is in list form without repeating elements can be treated as a set. Symtree works well with elements (or symbols) that can be further broken down into smaller units of data. For example HEX numbers can be broken down into digits or words can be broken down into letters. The internal data structure for Symtree allows for a quick sorting and searching. Data can be written to disk in a more space efficient manner than just writing every element to a file. Some very useful applications of Symtree are:· Dictionary· Browser history· Replacement of a compiler's symbol table· Replacement for a hash table NOTE: Symtree is licensed and distributed under the terms of the BSD License and GNU General Public License (GPL).
