Nagios Appender Description

Nagios Appender - Custom appender for log4j Nagios Appender encompasses a custom appender for log4j. Nagios Appender is intended to be used by developers and/or system administrators interested in using the log4j architecture to push messages to Nagios, via the Nagios nsca server.Nagios Appender project provides a simple solution for developers/administrators whose only alternative is to implement a polling function against against the output of a standard Log4j appender. The log4j configuration file provides for user-specific mappings between Log4j levels and Nagios levels.The configuration file also allows the user to select whether to set the Nagios 'service' and 'host' programmatically via the config file or via Log4j MDC. Later releases support XOR encryption.NOTE: Nagios Appender is released under the Apache License v2.0.
