A Firefox add-on that helps you read and write in foreign languages Globefish is a language tool for international web. It helps you read and write in foreign languages. You can start Globefish by clicking on the orange fish icon at the status bar, at the bottom right corner of the browser. You may press F8 key or click on "Tools > Globefish Language Support" in the menu bar as well.If you would like to read foreign text in a web page, you highlight it in the page (by dragging selection with your mouse). You don't need to know in which language the text is written. The source language is automatically detected, and its automatic translation is displayed in the Globefish dashboard, a bar located at the bottom of the browser. The whole thing is possible because Google Translate is doing the automatic translation from any auto-detected language to your language.To help you with writing in foreign languages, Globefish tells you how often your phrase appears on the web. To try using this feature, please type your phrases into Globefish dashboard. For example, if you type "delivery options" and "delivery choices", you will see a bar graph telling you that "delivery options" appears much more often than "delivery choices." This way, you can get a good clue to tell which phrase would sound more natural to native speakers of the foreign language.Note: The Globefish language tool addon is cross-platform and it works on Mac OS X, Windows and Linux.
