BuildMate Description

Free tool that enables you to automate the building process of REALbasic projects BuildMate can be used in many situations, from running on a schedule to provide nightly builds, to reducing a complicated build process down to as little as a single command. With BuildMate you can set properties and constants in the project with static and dynamic values from the build configuration file, move the resulting built applications to a builds directory, etc. BuildMate is even extensible and provides hooks before and after builds for developers to be able to run a script to make the build process do the extra steps they need. Here are some key features of "BuildMate": · Build multiple projects from a single configuration file. · Set constant and property values before building. · Subversion integration for tasks such as updating the repository, getting revision numbers, etc. · Copy resource files into your built application package. · Replace the Info.plist file with your own in a Mac build. · Hooks give you complete control over the build process. · Move built applications into a builds directory when done. · Configuration files work cross platform. · No user interaction required. Build can be fully automated. Requirements: · REALbasic What's New in This Release: · CopyFrameworks option is added to copy framework files into the application package. This feature works the same way that CopyResources works. · No longer freezes on Linux after launching the REALbasic IDE. · BuildMate fails more gracefully when the path to a project is incorrect in the configuration file. · Supports Mac style path separators which use colons. · BuildMate is less prone to leaving modified project files around after a build that is terminated early. The next time BuildMate runs it will cleanup these modified files if possible. · Building a project file that is already open in the REALbasic IDE, will still get the correct variable and constant values from the BuildMate configuration file. · MergePlist option allows for values to be added and modified in the plist file without requiring the entire file to change. This provides more flexibility in changing values, while still allowing REALbasic to control the plist file output.
