Free library that bridges the Ruby language runtime and the Macromedia Flash player Alph is a bridge between two language runtimes. Alph bridges the Ruby (v1.8) runtime with the Flash (v7) player/runtime. The Flash player is a unique runtime that is ill-understood by many because of its history. Flash was originally constructed to be an animation runtime. The construction of this runtime, however, was based on solid principals that have allowed the Flash development team to extend its capabilities in dramatic ways.Alph is cross-platform and will run on either Mac OS X, Windows or Linux. Requirements: · Flash 7 or later What's New in This Release: · This is a first public release of Alph. It requires the Flash 7 player installed and the Java SWT runtime. There are notes on how to get and install these dependencies in the readme.html file included in this distribution.
