A media player for KDE4 KDE Media Player is a combination of the best functions of several multimedia players and is capable of playing music and videosDeveloper commentsPlease note this is a development version of KDE Media Player, you may see a lot of bugs and there are missing a lot of basic features like repeat or aspect ratio.The idea of creating KDE Media Player was based upon a mockup created by menace1982 that you can see here: http://kde-look.org/content/show.php/A+Media+Player+for+KDE4?content=94472KDE Media Player is a combination of the best functions of several multimedia players and is capable of playing music and videos (soon CDs, DVDs and photos will also be reproduced). It will be capable of distinguish between different types of videos (videoclips, TV series, movies, home movies,...). The program allows you to read the song\'s lyrics (soon it will fetch the lyrics and timed lyrics if available) and also know more about the singers with a brief search made by KDE Media Player itself.Certain basic functions are not available yet. As an example, for now, there are no visualizations due to phonon\'s limitations.A further development of KDE Media Player will depend of everyone\'s opinion on the program. Therefore, it would be appreciated if you commented below, reporting opinions, problems, suggestions... You can also give your idea for its name.We hope you will enjoy KDE Media Player.How to add timed lyrics1. Search the lyrics2. Open the music on KDE Media Player3. Right click the music in the playlist and click "Edit lyrics..."4. Paste the lyrics you found.Hard way:5. Do the same for each line: move the cursor to the line, set its timeEasier way:5. Click "Save", play the music and press record button located in the middle top box (you should see the lyrics on it, if you don't, double click the song).6. Click the bottom of the box when someone says the next line.7. Click save button once you're done8. Disable record mode pressing the button again9. Double click the music in the playlist and enjoy(later it will be possible to download timed lyrics)How to run KDE Media Player without using source code (for 64 bit users)(this way requires KDE 4.4.2)1. Download the file 64bit_executable.tar.gz and extract its file2. Open Dolphin (or another file manager) in the folder where you extracted the file3. Right click the file and then click "Properties"4. Go to "Permissions" page5. Check "Is executable"6. Press OK7. Open the file8. KDE Media Player should open, if it doesn't, make sure you have KDE 4.4.2How to add files to playlistUnder playlist theres a box with 4 buttons, you should see on the right side of it "0 Media", click the first button on the left and select the files you want to play. Requirements: · KDE Software Compilation What's New in This Release: · Collection - up to now it can look for files and organize them by itself, you can't manage the files yet and it might not show some found musics it found. · Improved multimedia information - KDE Media Player saves the picture of the artist so it won't donload it all the time and it can also be shown in other places like system tray's icon tooltip · Czech and Portuguese(European) languages available (French comming soon) - media information page will look for information in your language (Czech or Portuguese) · Some bug fixes (lyrics editor now works) · All options in setting's general page now work
