Sets permanent opt-out cookies to stop targeted advertising by 37 different advertising networks Targeted Advertising Cookie Opt-Out (TACO) is a Firefox extension that sets permanent, generic, non personally identifiable opt-out cookies in the user's browser, which will prevent 37 different online advertising networks from collecting information on that user.Unlike other earlier opt-out solutions, this tool will make the cookies completely persistent. That is, clearing the browser's cookies will delete all other installed cookies, except these.Users wishing to delete these 40+ cookies (some advertising networks require multiple cookies, for different domain names) must first remove the add-on, before then deleting all installed cookies from the preferences window.This tool is based on the Advertising Cookie Opt Out Plugin by Valentin Gheorghita, a Google Engineer, which the company released under the Apache 2 open source license.
