SDL Asylum Description

A C port of the computer game Asylum. SDL Asylum is a C port of the computer game Asylum, which was written by Andy Southgate in 1994 for the Acorn Archimedes and is now public domain. The game has been tested on Linux and on Cygwin, but it should be possible to run it on other platforms which support the SDL graphics library. Young Sigmund has a few problems. To help him resolve his mental instability you must enter the surreal world of his inner mind and shut down the malfunctioning brain cells. Within each of the Ego, Psyche and Id zones - each one 300 times the size of the screen - you must locate the eight renegade neurons, entering them one by one to find and trigger their self-destruct system. Requirements: · SDL · SDL_mixer What's New in This Release: · Asylum now uses OpenGL instead of plain SDL to provide accelerated graphics, higher resolution, a choice of resolutions, and a new experimental feature (alpha quality): the game can be displayed at half scale, so four times as much of the map is visible at once.
