Notalinux is an Ubuntu Linux 12.04 LTS based Linux distribution with a minimal MATE desktop right on top of that.The MATE desktop is a fork of the GNOME 2 desktop you've grown to love.Notalinux is the Latin word for "familiar".Things to note...Notalinux comes with no warranty of any kind etc...etc...To install most major multimedia codecs (where allowed by law) install "ubuntu-restricted-extras"Notalinux aims to be as close to the Classic Ubuntu experience as possible...as it stands now Nota is a very simple Ubuntu minimal base with the Mate desktop.....all software except MATE & remastersys comes from the Ubuntu repositories.Notalinux uses the lightdm-gtk-greeter desktop manager for maximum compatibility and to avoid some of the issues seen with MDM.The only big changes are branding & look....The main reason for this was Ubuntu's policies regarding the use of their logos & name.Product's homepage
