NetMate Description

Netmate is an open source graphical software written in C and designed in GTK+ for displaying network protocols headers in 32-bit aligned fields, exactly how they are represented in RFCs (Request for Comments). You can use Netmate to teach and learn about network protocols, as well as to understand their collaboration and functionality. The application supports input files in pcap and pcap-ng formats, as they are generated by the Wireshark software, the tcpdump tool, or other app based on libpcap. It supports the following network protocols: Layer 2: Ethernet, SLL (Linux Cooked), Layer 3: ARP, ICMP, ICMPv6, IPv4, IPv6, and Layer 4: TCP, UDP. Netmate is a platform-independent application that supports Linux and Microsoft Windows operating systems. It is inspired by Netdude software.
