MyJDCMS Description

MyJDCMS is a very simple Content Management System designed to utilize an existing Web-based WYSIWYG editor. MyJDCMS is a very simple CMS (Content Management System) designed to utilize an existing Web-based WYSIWYG editor so that users who make infrequent changes to their static Web site can keep things up-to-date quickly and easily.GETTING STARTEDMyJDCMS works best on a website structured like the one below:>index.html HTML PAGE>page2.html HTML PAGE>page3.html HTML PAGE>style.css CSS STYLESHEET>images/ IMAGES FOLDERThe images folder and stylesheet can be named anything you wishand this is all configured from the config.php as shown below. INSTALLATION To install, unzip the files and place the MyJDCMS folder onto your server(This should preferably be a directory close to the files you will be editing).Open up the config.php file for editing and check all the variables are correct.CONFIG.PHP VARIABLES $username - This is the username used to access the CMS system.$password - This is the password used to access the CMS system.$sitename - The name of the website MyJDCMS is being used with. (This can essentially be anything!)$url - The URL of the website, or the URL of the folder containing the index.html file. EG: http://www.website.com/mysite. (Do not include the trailing slash)$stylesheet - The name of the stylesheet, usually 'style.css'.$images - The name of the images folder, usually 'images'. (This is where uploaded images will go)$filepath - This is the path to the folder where all your files are contained. EG: If your website address is http://www.website.com, and MyJDCMS is installed at http://www.website.com/myjdcms then the path variable will be '../'. Or if the website address is http://www.website.com/pages and MyJDCMS is installed at http://www.website.com/myjdcms then the path variable will be '../pages'.$fullpage - This determines whether full page editing is being used. If you are editing full html files with MyJDCMS then this should be set to 'y' as it will then preserve the and tags. If you are using MyJDCMS to edit small sections of a page (EG: if you are including them later using PHP include) then full page should be set to 'n' as you do not want two sets of tags.OTHER TASKSYou should also ensure that your html files and images folder have theirpermissions set correctly. Chmodding them all to 666 should allow MyJDCMS tohave read/write access to edit them correctly.USAGESome basic end-user instructions (More soon!)Logging In:- Visit the MyJDCMS folder on the web server to view the login screen.- Type in the username and password set in the config.php file.- Click 'Login'.Editing a File:- Once logged in you will hopefully see a list of the HTML files.- Click the appropriate filename to open the file and start the editor.- The editor can be resized using the bottom right corner.- Images can be added using the 'Image' icon and the URL can be pasted in.- Files can be saved using the top-left 'Save' icon.Uploading an Image:- Click the Images link from the MyJDCMS toolbar.- Use the Browse button to choose an image from your hard disk.- Click 'Upload' to start the image upload.- You will then be given the Images URL which you can paste into the editor when adding an image to a page.Viewing existing images:- Click the Images link from the MyJDCMS toolbar.- Click the 'View Uploaded Images' link.- You will now see all the images, along with their URL's which can be copied and then pasted into the editor when adding an image.Logging out:- From any screen, click the 'Logout' link on the MyJDCMS toolbar.- You should be sent back to the login screen.
