If a match is found, Hiitch will send an alert to notify you. Aside from profile matching, Hiitch will also alert you of other activities like appointments, events, items received and offline messages.You are not required to spent time and effort to monitor for the information you desire. Hiitch will automatically deliver all the critical information that you have indicated to be notified right onto your desktop.Hiitch is more...You are encouraged to sign up an account with our default network and use it as a means to contact us or interact with other developers of the Hiitch platform. Just download the default client and join us today as part of our community!But more than that you can now start your own secure desktop social networking community right from your home or private network for your personal use. You can grow your community through an initial trusted network of family and friends, then open that up to your peers, family's friends, friend's friend and etc. Building a social network using this approach is safer because the community is link to each other in some way. Also, your private and personal data such as pictures, profiles, journals and etc don't end up in the hands of people you don't even know because in Hiitch we encourage you to host your own server and network.Requirements:· Java Runtime Environment (JRE6) - tested on Ubuntu 7.10Only Gnome is supported for now. Hiitch does not show up on your systemtray in KDE due to issues with Java and KDE.Setting up the client:- Just run it.java -jar start.jarOr refer to the install-client.sh in the source code's script folder.You will need to login to your desktop again if Hiitch does not automaticallystart up after the client installation. If the Hiitch client has been startedsuccessfully, then you will see a yellow/gray icon appear on the system tray.To remove Hiitch from desktop startup you can either edit your Gnomesession or if you still want to keep Hiitch, use the options available onthe login panel of the GUI. To open the GUI, either right click on theyellow/gray icon to get a menu or double click on it.What's New in This Release:· Minor bug fixes.
