Dualism Description

OSX theme for GNOME Dualism is a GTK theme designed to allow for easy customization by a tinkerer. It includes a preprocessor script which allows the user to easily customize the appearance of the theme to their liking.By passing a few key values about brightness and contrast, the preprocessor performs a series of calculations and builds a new theme from the built-in template (which you can still edit manually). A default, pre-built configuration is included in this package. This preprocessor supports the generation of themes which work well with the Gnome2 Global Menu Bar project with the globalmenu=1 setting. To run the preprocessor, go to the folder where this theme is stored (usually ~/.themes/Dualism) and run `./customize.rb` To get more information on how to use the script, run `./customize.rb help`You must have Ruby installed to run the customization scripts.Example usage:./customize.rb globalmenu=1 contrast=0.85 notebook=1.1 tree_contrast=1.2Complete list of options and their defaults:GTK RC Parameterscontrast=0.82Controls how much darker the menu and toolbars are compared to the standard background colour.button_contrast=1.3Controls how pronounced the button borders are and how much they light up when hovered over.button=1.1Controls how much lighter the button background is compared the the standard background colour.scroll_contrast=1.1How pronounced the scroll bar is.notebook=1.1Controls how much lighter selected tab and page are than the standard background colour.notebook_bg=1.0Controls how light the unselected tabs are.panel=1.0Controls how light/dark the panel is.menu=controlBy default the menus inherit the default contrast value (shared with toolbars).menu_sel=1.0Lightens/darkens selected menu item compered to standard selected item colour.menu_fg=1.0Currently unusedtree_base=1.0 colour of selected item in tree view.tree_contrast=1.0How much brighter the selected item of the selected/active treeview is compared to the selected item of unselected/inactive treeviews. How to install?· Right click on your desktop and select Change Desktop Background· Click on the first tab: Theme· Drag and drop the theme's archive in the Appearance Preferences window.· If everything is OK, you will receive a confirmation message and you can activate the theme just by clicking on it.About GNOME:GNOME is an international effort to build a complete desktop environment—the graphical user interface which sits on top of a computer operating system—entirely from free software. This goal includes creating software development frameworks, selecting application software for the desktop, and working on the programs which manage application launching, file handling, and window and task management.GNOME is part of the GNU Project and can be used with various Unix-like operating systems, most notably Linux, and as part of Java Desktop System in Solaris. The name originally stood for GNU Network Object Model Environment, though this acronym is deprecated. The GNOME project puts heavy emphasis on simplicity, usability, and making things “just work”.
