AudioMove Description

A handy GUI-based batch audio file converter/ copier program. AudioMove project is a simple, easy to use GUI-based batch audio file copy-and-conversion program. You just tell it what files to convert, what format to convert them to, and where to put the output files, and it does it. Here are some key features of "AudioMove": · Converts from any format that libsndfile can read, to WAV, AIFF, or LCS format · Uses libsamplerate for high-quality sample rate conversion to various sample rates (11.025kHz-192kHz) · Supports 8-bit, 16-bit, 24-bit, 32-bit, or floating-point output sample widths · Specify files to convert using file requester or drag-and-drop · Multithreaded design for faster processing on multiprocessor machines · Pipelined dataflow for efficient resource utilization · Recursively batch-convert entire directory trees in a single step · Conversion-batch sizes may be arbitrarily large (e.g. thousands of files at a time) · Can be controlled from the command line (useful for invoking batch conversions from scripts) · No installation necessary -- just unzip and run · Qt-based GUI means AudioMove is portable to most major OS's · Open source (GPL); source code is available below · SUSE 9.1, MacOS/X and Windows binaries available below for your convenience. What's New in This Release: · This release adds support for reading and writing FLAC and Ogg file types. The Win32 build can read .cda files directly from audio CDs thanks to the AKRip CD ripping library. · An "Add Folder..." button makes it a bit more intuitive to set up recursive batch conversions. · This release upgrades the included muscle distribution to 4.50, libsamplerate to 0.1.7, and libsndfile to 1.0.19. Distributions of libogg, libvorbis, and libFLAC are included. · There is a build-audiomove.sh script to make building AudioMove more automatic under Mac OS X and Linux. · The AudioMove code has been updated to compile against (and require) Qt4.5.x. · A bug where convert-in-place mode would try to replace unusual filename extensions with their more usual ones, and in the process create a renamed copy of the input file instead of overwriting the input file (e.g. converting "file.aif" in-place would instead output to "file.aiff") has been fixed.
